Math in Montessori

Mathematics, like the language area, moves from the concrete and tangible to the abstract. It begins with numeracy and quantity, moves through understand place value, the decimal system, operations (addition, multiplication, subtraction and division, in that order) fractions, time, money, and measurement.

There are, like the language area, too many materials to list or describe in this post, so I've linked a short video, made by an established school in the US, giving an overview of how we teach math, as so much in Montessori is understood better being seen in action.
